Group D,

By Monday, the Week 5 Facilitator should create a "Final Slides" page on the group wiki. Group members should upload the slides they complete for the final curriculum design proposal to this page. By Monday, all group members should visit the "Final Slides" page and post which version of PPT they plan to use to create their slides. If the versions are different across group members, it is the responsibility of the Week 5 Facilitator to determine which version will work for all group members (e.g. if three group members have the 2007 version and two have the 2003 version, ALL group members should save their slides with the 2003 version). This will ensure that slides from all group members can be combined into one final presentation.
By Tuesday, the Week 5 Facilitator should post the version of PPT to be used by all group members to the Final Slides page of the group wiki.
Based on the group role you were assigned in Week 1, continue to work on preparing the final set of narrated PPT slides for your assigned portion of the curriculum design proposal (See the Week 1 Optional Resources for a tutorial on SoundBooth if necessary). All component slides should be submitted to the wiki by Friday of Week 5. After all Content Designers have submitted their slides to the "Final Slides" page on the group wiki, the Leader will compile all group members' contributions into the final curriculum design proposal PPT presentation, due on Sunday of Week 5.
It is the responsibility of Content Designers 1–4 to submit the slides for their assigned parts of the presentation to the "Final Slides" page in the group wiki. It is the responsibility of the Leader to compile all component slides, plus the Introductory and Concluding slides, into the final curriculum design proposal PPT presentation.
By Friday, all Content Designers and the Leader should submit component slides to the "Final Slides" page of the wiki.
By Sunday, the Leader should compile all component slides into the final curriculum design proposal, a narrated PPT presentation.

My PowerPoint version is 2011

I have 2003
Susan
_

I have 2010, but I can save as a 1997-2003 presentation and template.
Mark

I too have 2010 at home and can save in 1997-2003....I have 2007 as well.
Carmela

One suggestion I would like to make... Whatever version that is picked, I suggest that we leave notes in our slides for the project lead when she does the narration. That way she can convey our ideas in her narration as we invision. It is a lot harder to edit more than one voice than to just use one voice. Did we ever come to an agreement with that?
- Mark

I am not certain, but I agree with you Mark. I remember the project we did in another class and it was hard to edit all the voices. Notes sound like a plan. I don't think anything was ever decided, but my vote is for that.
-Carmela

I have alot going on this week so I created a slide for my portion of the project on "assessments" and submitted it now. Is this what you were referring to Mark? Please let me know and I will adjust what needs to be adjusted. I didn't want to make too many slides if their is just one narrator. It seems like alot for one person. What do you all think? Thanks - Carmela
Here is my revised slides saved in 2003 (posted in discussion board as well)

I have 2007
Ash

I agree - include notes for 1 narrator. Who will that be?

Have we agreed on PPT version yet? The lowest version I can save in is 97-2004. Let us know Mark, Thanks.

Images - I have done a search on Google images for "medical technician__ patient evaluation" and am finding some great images to use. Should we all try include some?

Lucia and Group D,

The narrator, if Ashley is up to it, can be her and anyone else willing to help. For my slides, since I am working on Objectives and Goals I will work off what we all came up with on the wiki page if anyone has anything they would like to include please feel free to email me. I will post this both in our group discussion and our wiki.

THE VERSION OF POWERPOINT TO BE USED... save to 2003 version or any version that will save to versions from 1997 - 2003/2004.

I believe that most of us are able to save to earlier versions of Powerpoint which is the beauty of have the lastest or at least the most recent version. I do not think there will be issues so we should work on what Susan has since she is our group leader. If you can save to 97-2004 version then do so and that should cover compatibility with the 2003 version which Susan is running on. Everyone make sure that you have notes in your slides and use what you have found with your research so the narrator(s) can work with them. I am not aware of any limitations on slides, but the bigger the file the longer it will take to upload once it is completed. So make sure that powerpoint shrinks the file size of images that you use. As this is being a proposal all we have to do is get the point across that we're the team to choose to create the currriculum for this course. We should all try to keep that in mind as well as be informative.

      • I REVSIED THIS POST FROM EARLIER*** - Mark

Dr B said we could use one or more voices. My programs are older and microphones are not useful. Who has a good voice and would enjoy the opportunity to shine as our narrator?
Thanks,
Susan

Group D,

Even though I feel that it would be easier, as far as editing goes, to use one narrator I have the materials needed to record a narration. I have two responsibilities this week plus whatever I have going on in my life currently so I am offering help to anyone else what would take the narration like maybe Ashley or Carmela? Let me know please.

Mark.

Hello all,
Check the files and presentation page for Emergency Services. This is the first draft.
Thanks,
Susan

Hi everyone

Here are the Strategy slides. The content is different to what we discussed in Week 4 - based on Dr B's feedback earlier this week. After reading Ch 10 again, I think is what we had to include. Please let me know if I'm right or wrong and what should change. Are more narration notes required? I have included images in my slides - let me know if anyone else would like to as well - I can send some nice ones I found to you / insert them for you.

Well done to those who've got their slides done.

I look forward to your feedback

Lucia

Looks like we all have alot going on. I am moving to a new role at work today and need to do alot of learning. It seems like we are down to the wire, therefore I guess I will volunteer for narration. I plan on reading what is in the notes section on all slides so please ensure that what you'd like said is there. I also ask that all slides are to me by Friday evening as I'd like to record it and submit as soon as possible. Thanks everyone! - Carmela

Here are the slides thus far....Thanks Susan for starting this.

I will narrate. I have to do so after my husband gets home so that he can care for this kids so you do not hear "Jake threw yogurt at me!!!" or "EEEEEEW Luna made a stinky!!" in the background. I will corner him tonight and tell him he has to do babysitting duties one night this week.

Ash

Thanks Ash! Let me know what I can do to assist you! BTW- you are too funny! I can totally envision what you were saying! LOL! - Carmela

Ashley,
I can remember those days:)

Lucia,
Nice job on your slide.

Thanks,
Susan

Thanks Susan. x Lucia

Mark's Slides for Learning Goals and Objectives.

So as intended, I went off what we all came up with during the week we discussed this subject and put them into PPT format. I made some tweaks as some parts of that final copy of our learning goals and objectives had repeating information and other parts needed more. However it still gives the same impression as we decided; just with more information. Sorry I did not pick up earlier on that otherwise I would have mentioned it. Thanks for the group I believe we will all do a good job! Enjoy the rest of your week. If you cannot read it let me know. When I saved it to the 97-2003 format it gave me some message about the font and size may not be compatible, but I kept to neutral sizes (36 being the largest if memory serves from way back then haha!) and the font is Times New Roman so I know the old versions had that.

Hi Mark, Dr B made us cutm things down. The assignment is for 3-5 goals and 7-10 objectives. that is why they were cut down. We need to figure out which objectives to cut.
Thanks,
Susan

there are alot of slides here. If you want me to narrate then I will put them all together and do that, I will start tomorrow unles there is an overwhelming no. Jim says he will take kid duties for me tomorrow so we can have this done and in on time.
Ash

I am onboard with you narrating. Thanks so much for doing this Ash! Tell Jim I said thanks as well! ;) Let me know where I can be of assistance. - Carmela

This is the final version before I do sound recording. Look it over.
Lucia, I found the rest of your notes. that silly space at the bottom of the slide is so small!
Since we have an extension I will record tonite when I finish my content review and then I will RE POST a final final product.
Everyone did a great job and everything looked so awesome. Thank you for making this fairly easy for me to smoosh together!!
Ash

Great job Ashley,
Thanks for your work!

With narration. comments before I submit for grading.

Hi Ash - great job. Thanks so much.

Just one thing - could you make the microphone symbol invisible on each slide and auto play it as the slide starts?

In case you don't know how to do this, here are the steps:

Click on the audio symbol on slide
Click on the Format Audio tab
Select the option to Start: Automatically
Underneath that - click Playback Options: Hide Icon During Show

You'll have to do that on each slide. Hope this helps

Thanks
Lucia

Ash....Everything looks and sounds great! I like your narration. You spoke at a good pace and it was easy to follow. Great job! I saw Lucia's comments on the microphone symbol and I agree. It covers some of the words on the slide. Other than that, excellent!

Thanks again!

Nice job! When everyone has made their comments and Ashley is ready, I will post the presentation to Dr B.
Thanks,
Susan

final version with no speaker icon is in file share. ready for submission. thank you all for your hard work this quarter. i have enjoyed working with each and every one of you. we did a good job and i am proud of our work.
